Celebpoker.co.uk – For much of the earlier part of this tournament, I found everything was going well. I had drawn a favourable table, managed to pick up a few early pots, and generally felt good about my play.

I usually play poker online with the same group of 25 or so players each week, and so I know their playing habits pretty well. This week however, there was a new player on our table. We tangled in one or two pots with me winning the first, and on the second occasion, I made a big fold on the turn with a weak Flush.
Soon after these early exchanges I eliminated a player with a very difficult call for most of my chips. As three tables were split into two, I found myself with 14,500 online poker chips from a starting point of 6,000. What I should have done was start nurturing my stack to see if I could possibly carry most of it through to a final table, but that has never been my style.
One of the players who had joined our table on my right was a friend of mine whose play I am familiar with, and vice versa.
Both myself and he, managed to somehow get all our chips in preflop with (J,4) and (K,8) after the action had been folded around, but not through some moment of madness by either or both of us. We both read each other perfectly in that poker hand, but I shall dedicate a different article to discussing this hand at length. I went out with (A,K) shortly afterwards in around 12th place, and left feeling that I should have perhaps done better.
