I have previously heard women speak of having an advantage over men playing poker at CelebPoker.co.uk because men will be more stubborn in holding onto hands that they should be folding.

This idea that men might be too proud to put a hand down when they feel they might be being bluffed, or that they might make some other mistake based on their pride is misplaced in my opinion. Any person that takes poker seriously at CelebPoker will know that you make the best decision you can, in the scenario you find yourself in, regardless of any personal feelings about being pushed around by a player. I am sure there are amateur players out there somewhere for whom this might be an issue, but it certainly isn’t for me.

If you look at Celeb Poker with the mindset that you’ll call that last bet just to let someone know they can’t bluff you, or if you randomly make a huge bluff just so you can tell yourself that you’re a great player when your opponent folds, you aren’t going to win many tournaments. You might have had your own little victory in your mind, but the online poker players taking home the money are the only victorious ones.

I feel that you should always be judging each situation as they present themselves, carefully putting together pieces of the puzzle of each player. If one of these CelebPoker.co.uk players bluffs me off a pot and then shows me, do I feel any injured pride? Not in the slightest, I simply slot my freely given piece of the puzzle into it’s place, and use the information wisely when the time comes.
